Engaging with LGBTQIA+ groups and experts in the area raises awareness of your practice's dedication to working with the population:

  • Organize community gatherings in partnership with local LGBTQIA+ groups and observe LGBTQIA+ awareness days.

  • Invite a diverse group of LGBTQIA+ people to serve on the boards that govern and advise your health center.

  • Conduct periodic engagement with LGBTQIA+ people where your healthcare services are located or who receive your services.

  • Be familiar with local resources for LGBTQIA+ patients such as support groups, trans-specific resource groups, crisis intervention organizations, domestic violence organizations, local LGBTQIA+ NGOs and other such groups.
